Bet On You Mental Performance Seminar for Young Athletes

Pressure has become part of youth sports. Athletes are expected to train hard, perform under stress, keep up with school, manage expectations, and still enjoy the game. That is a lot for a young person to carry.

That is why mental performance support matters.

The Bet On You mentality is built around a simple but powerful idea: before an athlete can succeed on the field, court, mat, track, or ice, they need to believe they are worth betting on. Confidence, resilience, focus, and emotional strength are skills. Like throwing, shooting, sprinting, or lifting, they can be practiced.

Facilitated by the D’Angelo Training Facility, the Bet On You Mental Performance Seminar for Young Athletes brings that message to life with Erin Connor, Certified Mental Performance Mastery Coach and owner of Edge UP Mental Performance Training.

The seminar will take place at The Hun School of Princeton on September 23, 6-7:30pm. All DT Royals members are invited, and the event is also open to the public because every athlete and family deserves access to mental performance and wellness support.

Young athletes need more than physical training

Youth sports can teach discipline, teamwork, and courage. They can also bring stress.

A young athlete may look confident during practice yet feel anxious before a game. They may laugh with teammates but quietly replay every mistake on the ride home. They may love their sport and still feel the weight of tryouts, playing time, rankings, recruiting talk, or fear of letting people down.

Physical training prepares the body. Mental performance training helps prepare the mind.

That does not mean every athlete needs to be fearless. Fear, nerves, doubt, and frustration are normal. The goal is to help athletes understand those feelings and respond in healthy, productive ways.

Mental performance work can help athletes practice skills such as:

  • Staying focused after a mistake

  • Managing pre-game nerves

  • Building confidence through preparation

  • Setting realistic goals

  • Handling pressure from competition

  • Communicating better with coaches and teammates

  • Separating self-worth from performance

These are life skills. A player who learns how to reset after an error can use that same skill after a tough test, a hard conversation, or a personal setback.

HOW TO RESERVE:
